Gilmore Creek
Gilmore Creek is the outflow from Lake Winona and runs through an industrial section of Winona. While not the most picturesque creek in the area, it is heavily wooded on the north side, gets some great sun from the south side and it does attract a lot of migrating birds.

Those are some serious feet and toes on this Great Blue Heron!

Mallards: Synchronized swimming contest!

Double-crested Cormorant: A common migrant through our area in the spring and fall, but I have never been able to get this close to one before. A mature bird (yellow beak).

Wood Duck: A Wood Duck in flight has to be one of the toughest of the "Birds In Flight" images to get! They spook easily and fly FAST!

Kingfisher: ANY image of a Kingisher is a REALLY tough shot!!! One in flight is a 5x tough shot!!!!
